What You Need to Know
Understanding your Spravato treatment
What Is Spravato?
Spravato® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved prescription nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression. It works differently from traditional antidepressants and may help reduce symptoms when other treatments have not provided adequate relief.
Who May Benefit?
Spravato may be appropriate for adults who continue to experience significant symptoms of depression despite trying other antidepressant treatments. A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is required to determine eligibility.
What to Expect
Spravato is self-administered as a nasal spray at Essential Clinic under the supervision of a trained healthcare professional. Patients are monitored throughout the appointment in a comfortable and supportive clinical setting.
Monitoring and Safety
Patients remain at the clinic for at least two hours after receiving Spravato. Temporary side effects may include sedation, dizziness, nausea, increased blood pressure, or feeling disconnected from one’s surroundings.
Treatment Schedule
Treatment generally begins with more frequent sessions and gradually transitions to a personalized maintenance schedule based on each patient’s symptoms and response.
Transportation Requirements
Patients cannot drive or operate machinery after treatment. Transportation home must be arranged before each appointment.
Find Out if Spravato Is Right for You
Our psychiatric team will review your symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, and insurance requirements to determine whether Spravato may be an appropriate option for you.
